Description of competition:

 

To enter the competition, you should take a photograph or a selfie that shows yourself, a new mum or mum-to-be taking part in a ‘physical activity’.

 

‘Physical Activity’ denotes any activity that makes you breathe faster whilst still being able to hold a conversation (e.g., gardening, walking the dog, playing with children, etc.) and may also include structured exercise and sporting activities.

 

The competition categories are:

 

  • Active Pregnant & Postnatal Mums

  • Active Pregnant & Postnatal Black & Brown Mums

  • Active Pregnant & Postnatal Mum with a Disability

 

Post your photo(s) on Twitter (@pregnancyactive) and/or Instagram (@activepregnancyfoundation) using the hashtag #RealMumsAreRoleModels in the caption. Please also clearly state the category you are entering by including one of the following hashtags: #ActiveMum #ActiveBlackBrownMum #ActiveMumDisability

 

A personal story can also be included, and this will automatically be entered into the ‘Inspirational Story’ category.

 

You can submit as many photographs as you wish.

 

Competition Rules:

 

  1. By submitting your entry, you agree to these rules. If you do not agree, please do not submit your entry.

  2. All entries must be received by the advertised closing time and date.

  3. Closing date is midnight, Monday 31st May.

  4. Images may be digitally enhanced to remove spots or scratches, but not manipulated. Entrants can enhance the picture to make it brighter, clearer etc., but not manipulate the content. The Active Pregnancy Foundation (the APF) and the judges reserve the right to exclude any image they believe may have been excessively treated so as to alter its authenticity.

  5. The competition is open to UK residents only (including residents of the Channel Islands and Isle of Man). Employees of The APF, as well as their immediate families are not eligible to enter. Entrants need must be 18 or over to enter.

  6. Entrants can be amateur or professional photographers. For the purposes of this competition, a professional photographer will be considered to be someone who makes more than half their annual income from the sale of their photographs.

  7. To qualify, you need to upload your photo and caption to Twitter and/or Instagram between Monday the 3rd of May and Monday the 31st of May 2021, including the hashtag #RealMumsAReRoleModels and indicating the category you are entering using the appropriate hashtag as described above. Your profile must be public in order for us to view your photo entry. Please also clearly the category you are entering.

  8. All images submitted must be the work of the individual submitting them. It is the responsibility of each entrant to ensure that any images they submit have been taken with the permission of the subject/s, they consent to the processing involved in and as a result of this competition, and that images do not infringe the copyright of any third party or any laws. Entrants must warrant that the photograph they are submitting is their own work and that they own the copyright for it.

  9. Copyright in all images submitted for this competition remains with the respective entrants. However, in consideration of their providing the competition, each entrant grants a worldwide, irrevocable, perpetual licence to The APF to feature any or all of the submitted images in any of their publications, their websites, social media channels and/or in any promotional material.

  10. Late, illegible, incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will not be accepted; neither will anything that goes against the Chief Medical Officers’ guidelines: (1) ‘Physical activity for pregnant women’ and (2) ‘Physical activity for women after childbirth’. We highly recommend you consult these guidelines before submitting any image. The guidelines can be found on our website HERE. No responsibility can be accepted for lost entries and proof of transmission will not be accepted as proof of receipt. Entries must not be sent through agencies or third parties.

  11. The four winners will be chosen by a judging panel – comprised Anita Corbin, Sandra Igwe, Tania Dutton, Sophie Power and Mark Woods. They will be judged based on the criteria that it visually shows women participating in physical activity during pregnancy or in the postnatal period. The winners will be notified within twenty working days of the closing date of the competition. If the winners cannot be contacted or does not claim the prize within five days of notification, we reserve the right to withdraw the prize from the winner and pick a replacement winner.

  12. It will be The APF’s decision as to those able to take part and selection of winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.

  13. The three finalists shall win a £100 Amazon Gift Voucher. The winner of the Inspirational Story shall win a gift bundle provided by FittaMamma.

  14. The prize is as stated, and no cash or other alternatives will be offered. The prizes are not transferable. Prizes are subject to availability and we reserve the right to substitute any prize with another of equivalent value without giving notice.

  15. The winners may be required to take part in publicity. The winner agrees to the use of his/her name and image in any publicity material, as well as their entry. Any personal data relating to the winner or any other entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK GDPR legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the entrant’s prior consent.

  16. The winners’ names may be disclosed to anyone who writes within one month after the published closing date, stating the date of publication.

  17. Events may occur that render the competition itself or the awarding of the prizes impossible due to reasons beyond the control of The APF, and accordingly The APF may at its absolute discretion vary or amend the promotion and the entrant agrees that no liability shall attach to The APF as a result thereof.  The APF also reserves the right to cancel this competition or alter any of the rules at any stage.

  18. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram, Facebook, Twitter or any other social network. You are providing your information to The APF. The information provided will be used in conjunction with the following Privacy Policy found HERE

  19. By entering, entrants will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and The APF reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if The APF has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules.

  20. These rules are governed by the laws of England and Wales. This competition is administered by The APF.
