Personalised Aquanatal Sessions for Pregnancy Developed by Good Boost

At The APF, we believe that women should be supported to stay active throughout pregnancy and beyond and that means making movement feel possible, enjoyable and relevant to the individual. That’s why we’re delighted to announce our endorsement of Bump Boost, a personalised aquanatal exercise programme developed by Good Boost.

Bump Boost has been designed to help pregnant women stay active from the early stages of pregnancy through to 40 weeks, using the natural support of water alongside personalised, technology-enabled exercise.

Sessions can focus on mobility, strength, posture and general wellbeing, with exercises adapted to an individual’s stage of pregnancy, comfort levels and needs.

Making Movement More Personal

We know pregnancy is not a one-size-fits-all experience, what feels comfortable and achievable at one stage can change significantly at another. Some women may be looking to maintain their fitness, whilst others may want gentle movement to help them manage discomfort, build strength or simply feel more confident in their changing bodies.

Bump Boost responds to that individuality. Participants complete an induction before receiving a personalised programme, which can then be delivered through instructor-supported sessions or independently using a Bump Boost tablet. The programme is designed to work across all stages of pregnancy and is suitable for swimmers and non-swimmers.

For The APF, that emphasis on choice, adaptation and meeting women where they are is particularly important.

“We’re delighted to endorse Bump Boost and to support Good Boost in their work to make physical activity during pregnancy more accessible and achievable. Pregnancy can bring huge changes to how women feel and move, so providing opportunities that can be adapted to individual needs is incredibly valuable.

“We know that being active during pregnancy can support both physical and mental wellbeing, but we also know that women need to feel confident that the activity they choose is appropriate for them. Bump Boost is an exciting example of how innovation can be used to create a more personalised and supportive experience.”

Bump Boost has grown from Good Boost’s experience of creating personalised, accessible exercise programmes, with the programme specifically developed with maternal and neonatal expertise. As part of our relationship with Good Boost, The APF has been able to provide mentorship, expertise and access to our wider network to help strengthen the programme from the outset.

Hannah Parr, Co-founder and Director of Clinical Experience at Good Boost, said:

“Working with the Active Pregnancy Foundation through the mentorship has been a wonderful opportunity to access resources and extremely knowledgeable individuals to help make Bump Boost better from the beginning.”

It’s exactly the kind of collaboration we value - bringing together expertise, experience and innovation to help create better opportunities for women to access tailored physical activity support.

Why Aquanatal?

There’s something particularly appealing about moving in water during pregnancy. The buoyancy of the water can reduce the load on joints and provide support as the body changes, while low-impact movement can help women build and maintain strength and mobility. Bump Boost combines these benefits with personalised programming, creating a supportive environment where women can move at their own pace, with guidance available when they need it. Perhaps just as importantly, it provides another option because there is no single 'right' way to be active during pregnancy. Whether it’s walking, swimming, strength training, dancing, running, yoga, cycling, aqua-natal exercise, what matters is finding movement that works for you, your body and your circumstances.

Supporting More Women to Keep Moving

At The APF, our ambition is to help create a culture where physical activity is seen as a normal and positive part of pregnancy and the postnatal period. That means championing good-quality information and evidence, but it also means supporting innovative programmes that help turn that knowledge into real opportunities for women to move.

We’re pleased to endorse Bump Boost and look forward to seeing how the programme develops and, most importantly, how it supports more women to feel comfortable, confident and empowered to keep moving throughout pregnancy.
